A Review on Concept of Veterinary Bio-technology and Livestock Products in Medicine
Abstract
Biotechnology is the well established technology which utilizes the biological system in several areas such as pharmaceutical industries, environmental remediation and other related fields of medicine, but its application in the domain of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry has only started to emerge with the potential to revolutionize veterinary medicine and entire veterinary science. Herein we have discussed applications of biotechnology in artificial insemination, veterinary vaccine, gene therapy. Many livestock products are used in Ayurvedic medicines. The livestock products used in traditional ayurvedic medicines have been discussed in detail. The scope of biotechnology in veterinary medicine and health sciences are increasing day by day. Apart from direct application in veterinary medicine, the applications of biotechnology in gobar gas and pharmaceutical industry is also discussed in detail.
